Veteran English manager issues Gareth Southgate world cup advice regarding Arsenal star

Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has been in mind blowing form this season.

The Hale End academy graduate burst unto the scene at Arsenal a couple of years back when he shone for the Gunners first team and he’s not looked back since then, establishing himself as a regular in Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal squad.

Smith Rowe’s fine form this season has no doubt taken the premier league by storm. In fact, his 10 goals scored this season is not bettered by any premier league midfielder, little wonder Harry Redknapp has tipped the young Englishman to be in the Three Lions world cup squad that would travel to Qatar later this year.

The Arsenal number 10 scored the opener in Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Brentford on Saturday and former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has not hidden his admiration for the youngster.

“Another top performance and another goal for Emile Smith Rowe, the first Arsenal midfielder to score 10+ goals across all competitions in a single season since Aaron Ramsey in 2017/18,” Redknapp said in his BetVictor column as quoted by

“That’s some stat. He’s got a huge future ahead and has to be on that plane to Qatar.”

Smith Rowe made his debut in November last year against Albania and the Arsenal youngster clearly impressed England boss Gareth Southgate but to make the Three Lions world cup squad, he faces stiff competition from attacking midfielders/wingers like Mason Mount, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Jadon Sancho and Arsenal teammate Bukayo Saka who are more established members of the England setup.
