While both Chelsea and Liverpool prepare for their respective midweek games, there’s a Carabao Cup final on the horizon.
Wembley on Sunday evening will play host to both Liverpool and Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final, a clash that would see both sides meet for the third time this season after two draws in the premier league.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was speaking to the media earlier today ahead of his side’s premier league clash with Leeds tomorrow and the German delivered an update on two of his key players, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino who missed the 3-1 win over Norwich last weekend due to injuries.
According to Klopp, there is no chance that the duo would be involved tomorrow, an update which throws further doubt into their availability for Sunday’s final.
Jurgen Klopp: “For tomorrow, no chance. Then we will see. It would be easy to say ‘no’ now, but we will see. They were not on the pitch for training, which is not a good sign.”
Well, it could be a positive news from a Chelsea perspective if both players are not available for Sunday’s final but the Blues would be very sure to get a challenging game with Liverpool’s attack still comprising of the likes of Sadio Mané, Mohammed Salah, and new boy Luis Diaz.
